Tours – Park Tour
October 15th, 2009 by admin

Tour departs daily from Union Square (in front of Macy’s) at 10:30am and 2:30pm.

Short Description:

Why take a boring taxi into Golden Gate Park when you can take a fully narrated, guided tour on an open-top double-decker bus? This tour has a hop-off hop-on stop right in the heart of the Park and takes you through unique neighborhoods along the way.

Long Description:

The Golden Gate Park Loop departs from Union Square and includes St. Mary’s Cathedral, Japantown, Alamo Square (home of the famous Painted Ladies), and then on to Golden Gate Park. The world famous park is home to renowned attractions including the De Young Museum, Japanese Tea Gardens and the Botanical Gardens. Also in the Park, and right next to our stop, is the new all-Green California Academy of Sciences which features an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum and more all under its Living Roof!

On the return, the bus visits the infamous Haight Ashbury neighborhood, home to hippies and the peace and love movement, and the Civic Center.
